English B2 test for Master's Degree Courses taught in English

Prospective students willing to register for a Master's Degree Course taught in English unable to certify their competence in the English language, can take a B2 English test with the University Language Centre.

The test is on offer for the following courses:

  • Advanced Automotive Engineering
  • Analisi dei Dati per l'Economia e il Management
  • Artificial Intelligence Engineering
  • Digital Automation Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering
  • International Management (EU students, students with an Italian diploma, extra EU students living in Italy with a foreign diploma)
  • Sustainable Industrial Engineering

 
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS TO TAKE THE TEST REMOTELY
 
In order to take the test remotely you MUST be technically prepared. You will find all the technical requirements at the following link:

To log onto the virtual room, please use your cellphone with an account possibly stating your full name and surname.

You will need your UNIMORE username and password to do the test.

 

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THE TEST?

Please remember that you can only register for the test AFTER submitting the application for evalutation for the Master's Degree Course you're interested in.
 

  1. Go on the esse3 website (www.esse3.unimore.it), click on the top right menu and select “registration”, follow the registration procedure and take note of the assigned username and password

    Master's Degree Course application for evaluation submitted? If yes, follow from step 3. If not, follow from step 2.
     
  2. Login on the esse3 website, on the top right menu click on “Reserved Area”, "Application for evaluation", select the Master's Degree Course you're interested in, fill in the relevant form and submit it
     
  3. Login on the esse3 website, on the top right menu click on “Reserved Area”, "Application for evaluation" and then "English Language Entry Test"
     
  4. Select the specific category "English Language Test" and choose the TEST PROVA INGLESE B2 selecting the date of your choice
     
  5. Follow the registration procedure until final confirmation: you can now see and print the form reporting date, time, and venue (online) where to take the test. The assigned shift CANNOT be changed.
     
  6. Please note that it is mandatory to upload a couple of documents before the registration preocedure is over:
    a. your identification document
    b. a declaration of commitment which must be uploaded in the section "Other documents". Here's the model you can edit: declaration of commitment

 

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE TEST
 
Language usage, reading and listening comprehension at B2 level are tested in more or less one hour. The cut-score to pass the test is 60% of correct answers.

Candidates are required to do some self-study and any material specific for the preparation of the Common European Framework of Reference B2 level is a good choice.

CERTIFICATE
 
Candidates passing the test will receive a certificate that can be used to apply for one of the Master’s Degree courses enlisted above.
 
 

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE NOT TAKEN THE TEST?
 
If, despite being registered, you have not shown up, or you couldn’t register for the test due to no seats available left, you can register for a second date, if available.
