IELTS preparation courses
The Language Centre offers free preparation courses aimed exclusively at UNIMORE and PhD students who intend to take the IELTS Academic International Certification.
Course duration: 21 hours (14 meetings of 90 minutes each)

| Intermediate course REGGIO EMILIA
| The course is intended for students who aim to achieve a score of 7 or higher (CEFR B2) by taking the exam in the January/February 2026 sessions. The course will primarily practice written and oral skills. | Advanced course MODENA
| The course is intended for students who aim to achieve a score of 7 or higher (CEFR B2) by taking the exam in the January/February 2026 sessions. The course will primarily practice written and oral skills. Prerequisite: C1 level of the CEFR Book: IELTS practice test plus 3 with key ed Pearson ISBN 978 1291 5955-3 | in person Centro Linguistico di Ateneo Room B1.7 | The course will take place on Wednesdays starting from October 8th 2025 Time: 8:30-10:00 |
NEXT SEMESTER, STARTING FROM MARCH 2026, TWO ADDITIONAL COURSES WILL BE HELD (more info on January 2026).
The courses are solely intended to prepare students to obtain their desired score on the IELTS international certification (students will be required to practice independently in addition to attending weekly classes).

Placement test
To access the courses it is compulsory to take the placement test and result in a valid position in the ranking list.
Placement Test IELTS C1: 29/09/2025 at 10:30 (Lab. B2.1 - Centro Linguistico di Ateneo - Modena) - ENROLMENT HERE (from 15/09 9:00)
Placemente Test IELTS B2: 02/10/2025 at 16:30 (Lab. 1012 - Palazzo Dossetti - Reggio Emilia) - ENROLMENT HERE (from 15/09 9:00)
The test lasts 90 minutes and involves listening, reading and writing. To take the test it is compulsory:
1. to change your UNIMORE password here
2. to bring your own headphones or earphones (3.5 mm jack only) and a valid identity document.
Class composition
Students will be admitted according to a ranking list based on the results of the placement test, up to a maximum of 20 students per course.
The activation of the courses will be subject to the achievement of a minimum of 10 students for each course.
The course does not provide any certificate of attendance/level and any recognition of CFUs.
